Direct Support Professional $20 – $36 hourly wage (Full-Time) with time and a half pay on weekends.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:   Provide services and supports for adults with developmental disabilities in their home setting.  Responsibilities include implementing programs as determined by the person’s planning team, attending to health and medical needs, following general and specific behavior management practices, meal preparation, completing preventive maintenance/cleaning duties/laundry and maintaining accurate records of services provided. This position includes every other weekend as part of the rotation.

Sample hours are 10-hour shifts beginning at 12:30 pm to 10:30 pm, 4 days a week.  $4 per hour differential for hours worked between 10:30 pm to 6:30 am. Weekend hours are paid at a rate of a time and a half.

REPORTS TO:  Team Leader

SALARY:  Starting salary is $20 – $21 hourly wage, depends on education and experience.  

Weekend hours are paid at a rate of a time and a half = a minimum of $30/hour!

Full time positions may qualify for Paid Vacation/Sick Leave, Health, Dental, and Vision Insurances, plus a 401k Retirement Plan. 

WORK SCHEDULE:  The hours vary during the weekdays and all rotations include every other weekend.

QUALIFICATIONS:           

  1. Work experience in the field of developmental disabilities preferred.
  2. Education in human services, education or closely related field preferred. 
  3. HS diploma/GED required.  Must be 18 years of age.
  4. Able to exercise sound judgment in an emergency situation.
  5. Able to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  7. Good oral and written communication skills.
  8. Able to function as part of a team.
  9. Able to lift at least 50 or 60 lbs. depending on area of work.
  10. Successful completion of online coursework provided.
  11. Able to achieve certification in CPR and First Aid, and Medication Administration, and Safety Care.
  12. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
  13. Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
