Medical Direct Support Professional – $18.50 – $19.50 per hour

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist and provide transportation to medical appointments, assist with appointment documentation, teaching and educating people on good health routines, etc.

Internal Training Required:

    1. Complete Medication Aid course to include insulin certification – according to agency standards; maintain Medication Aid certification according to agency standards.
    2. Develop a working understanding of any Therap modules that apply to the position.
    3. Be familiar with agency Policy and Procedures, Staff Personnel Policies, and CQL (Accreditation) Personal Outcome Measures and Basic Assurances.
    4. Be familiar with ARSD rules and CMS requirements, and related on-going file reviews as they pertain to the Medical Services Coordinator
    5. Be able to utilize the Systemic Monitoring and Reporting Technology (SMART).
    6. Attend other training as assigned.

STARTING SALARY RANGE:  $18.50 – $19.50 per hour, depending upon education/experience.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position is a part-time or full-time.  The hours for this position may vary, though hours of work will typically fall between 6:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, with every other weekend.  Time and a half pay for weekend hours worked.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum of 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Supervisor/Management experience preferred.
  • Ability to complete all ARSD training requirements within required time frames.
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; listens adequately to respond to individual’s needs.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language adequately to respond to individual’s needs.
  • Ability to see and hear in order to make assessments.
  • Valid driver’s license and must be insurable by the agency insurance carrier.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to use the computer for required documentation, communication, scheduling and other assessments.
  • Able to achieve certification in CPR and First Aid, Medication Administration and Safety Care.
  • Pass a post-offer drug screening
