Services and Supports Director: Full-time

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Services and Supports Director supports the Executive Director in the provision of overall direction, training, management, and leadership of home and community-based services (HCBS) programs and personnel.  The Services and Supports Director is charged with leadership of all services and programs; overseeing of the implementation of the Person-Centered Planning process, required assessments, program regulatory compliance, and services and supports provided within the organization.  This position works in collaboration with finance office, office management, human resources, and residential services leadership to assure continuity of services for all persons supported.  This is an exempt position.

Some areas of focus are:

  • Plans, directs, and supervises all functions of direct care duties for individuals engaged in services programming including all supports to assure mission fulfillment for each individual supported.
  • Directly collaborates with the Director of Residential Services to assure continuity of program design and delivery for each individual supported across the organization.
  • Assists in providing training and direction to Direct Support Supervisors, Direct Support Professionals, and Direct Support Assistants in all areas of Day Services.
  • Oversees and assists, as needed in the development, implementation, and monitoring Individual Support Plans (ISP), to include personnel training on implementation of plans.  Actively participates at individual meetings.
  • Oversees the development, training, and monitoring of individual programs as outlined in the ISPs.
  • Provides oversight on nursing services, medical coordination services, and medication administration training and management.
  • Assures required oversight and monitoring of the Training Specialist, the Behavioral Specialist, the Employment Specialist, the Benefits Specialist, and the Day Services Coordinator. 

REPORTS TO:  Executive Director

SALARY RANGE:  60K – 62K, depending on education/experience

WORK SCHEDULE:  Monday through Friday, additional hours as required by demands of position. Emergency availability expected.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Health Care Administration, Psychology, Education, Social Work, and/or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Management Competencies.
  • Three or more years Supervisory/Management experience in long-term and/or residential settings preferred.
  • Ability to complete all ARSD training requirements within the required time.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, which may include working weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to be responsible for 24-hour on-call coverage and respond to issues as necessary.
  • Excellent problem solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language adequately to respond to individual’s needs.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; listens accurately and responsively.
  • Responds to communication in timely manner and reviews e-mail and Therap
  • Ability to see and hear in order to make assessments.
  • Holds a valid driver’s license and maintains a safe driving record.
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally, which includes lifting objects and/or transferring individuals.
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach, and push/pull wheelchairs.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to use a computer for required documentation, communication, scheduling and other assessments.
  • Ability to operate and maintain household, office, and facility equipment.
